Who we are and why we do
Amber and Traci met over a decade ago and quickly bonded over their love for earthy fragrances, witty conversations, and good music. Their friendship didn't end when Amber moved to Germany, but waxed and waned across the years. In 2020 they once again reconnected strongly but this time it was books that created the bridge across the continents. Amber mentioned to Traci that she was reading the Wheel of Time. Traci was excited because this had been a long time favorite of hers and she was eager to get Amber's input on it.
It didn't take long for the two friends to realize that they were spending at least an hour or two on the phone a week talking about Wheel of Time, endless hours texting about the Wheel of Time, and having an immensely good time doing it. Traci, being a bit of a podcast junkie with some experience in her back pocket, suggested to Amber that they do a podcast together. Amber was an enthusiastic yes. They gathered their equipment and ideas and took the first steps towards building the Road to Tar Valon Podcast.
That first recording happened two years ago. In that time they have recorded one hundred episodes for the podcast, covering three of the fifteen novels in the series as well as creating an entire offshoot set of episodes titled "Westlands 101" filled with information about the plethora of Wheel of Time lore available. Once the Wheel of Time tv show began, they also added a YouTube channel that has maintained a steady level of growth since launching late 2021.
The main focus for us is to just have fun and talk Wheel of Time, which in this case frequently incorporates their shared love of history, architecture, clothing, and cultures. If this sounds like something you would be into, come join us on any of our platforms.
